হামাদ রেজা খানের জন্ম টাঙ্গাইলে। পিতার কর্মস্থল ছিল চট্টগ্রাম। সেখানেই কেটেছে তার শৈশব ও কৈশোর। তিনি ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়াশোনা করেছেন। ফার্মেসিতে স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রী অর্জন করে তিনি ১৯৭৩ সালে নিউইয়র্কে যান। তখন থেকেই তিনি সেখানে স্থায়ীভাবে বসবাস করছেন। তিনি মমদের লিটিক্যাল, সাংস্কৃতিক ও সামাজিক সংগঠনের উন্নয়নে নেতৃত্ব দেন। তিনি নিউইয়র্কে নিজের সম্পাদনায় একটি বাংলা সাপ্তাহিক পত্রিকা প্রকাশ করেন। তার প্রয়াত শহীদ পিতার স্মরণে। স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধে তিনি টাঙ্গাইলের আছে গ্রামে একটি কলেজ প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন। লেখা একটি কহিত যা তিনি তার যৌবনে তুলেছিলেন। বাউদাদেশ ও আমেরিকা লাইস নে আটেনাস। তিনি এই হ্যাকরাউন্ডের মিশ্রণে লিখতে পছন্দ করেন। জোভোতির স্মৃতিকথা তার তৃতীয় উপন্যাস।
