The book had been contemplating to write down the incident of 15th August 1975 and reveal the facts for the posterity. This incident has created enough confusion in the minds of the people. The Author also need to clear his conscience by telling exactly what had happend. This incident was not only a tragedy for Bangabandhu's family, but also it was a National Tragedy for all of us The Bengali's. In Bangladesh nobody ever imagined that a tragedy of such nature and magnitude could take place in our country, particularly with regard to Bangabandhu. When an incident of such nature takes place concerning the national leaders, The people also has the right to know about its details. The Author to the best of his ability narrated the details as it happened It is now up to the readers to say what else. The Author could have done to combat the situation that he faced. The Author in his write-up might have been a bit impolite on some involved person in but he daos not regret that he mentioned them the way he did because what he wrote about them is what he believe they wery. The people should also know the truth. This was what the Author aimed at. Unfortunately he has been prosecuted in The people's court and was convicted without a trial in his absence The Author would like The readers to go through the details in this book and give their judgement thereafter. In any case The Author shirked his responsibilities and never disowned his failure.

মেজর জেনারেল কে, এম, সফিউল্লাহ, বীর উত্তম সেপ্টেম্বর ১৯৩৫ সনে তদানিন্তন ঢাকা জেলার (বর্তমান নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেলা) রূপগঞ্জ গ্রামে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তিনি ১৯৫৩ সনে পাকিস্তান সেনা বাহিনীতে যােগদান করেন এবং ১৯৫৫ সনে পাকিস্তান মিলিটারী একাডেমি থেকে গ্রেজুয়েশন করে সেকেন্ড লেফটেনেন্ট পদে নিযুক্ত হন। সেনা বাহিনীতে কমিশন প্রাপ্তির পর ১৯৭০ সন পর্যন্ত বিভিন্ন সময়ে সেনাবাহিনীর বিভিন্ন ইউনিটে, স্টাফে এবং প্রশিক্ষণ প্রতিষ্ঠানে দক্ষতার সাথে কাজ করেছেন। তিনি ১৯৬৮ সনে পাকিস্তান কমান্ড এন্ড স্টাফ কলেজ কোয়েটা থেকে পিএসসি লাভ করেন। '৭১-এর স্বাধীনতার আন্দোলনকে সমর্থন করে জেনারেল সফিউল্লাহ ২৮ মার্চ '৭১ -এ দ্বিতীয় ইস্ট বেঙ্গল রেজিমেন্টে সেকেন্ড ইন কমান্ড থাকাকালে ঐ ব্যাটালিয়ন নিয়ে বিদ্রোহ করেন এবং মুক্তিযুদ্ধে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। মুক্তিযুদ্ধকালে মেজর সফিউল্লাহ তিনি তাঁর নামের প্রথম অক্ষর ‘এস' দিয়ে এস ফোর্স' নামে একটি নিয়মিত ব্রিগেড গঠন করেন এবং সে ব্রিগেডের কমান্ডার নিযুক্ত হন। যুদ্ধকালীন সময়ে তিনি জীবন বাজি রেখে কখন কখন সম্মুখ যুদ্ধে অবতীর্ণ হন। ১৬ ডিসেম্বর '৭১-এর বিজয় দিবসে, পাকিস্তান সেনাবাহিনীর আত্মসমর্পণকালে তিনি তার এই ব্রিগেড নিয়ে ঢাকায় উপস্থিত ছিলেন। মুক্তিযুদ্ধে তার অবদান ও সাহসিকতার জন্য বাংলাদেশ সরকার তাঁকে গ্যালেন্টি এওয়ার্ড বীর উত্তম পদকে ভূষিত করেন। দেশ স্বাধীন হওয়ার পর বাংলাদেশ সরকার এপ্রিল ১৯৭২ সনে তাকে প্রথম সেনাপ্রধান হিসেবে নিয়ােগ করেন। এই পদে তিনি আগষ্ট '৭৫ পর্যন্ত নিয়ােজিত ছিলেন। | জেনারেল সফিউল্লাহ ১৯৭৫-এর পর থেকে ১৯৯১ পর্যন্ত এক নাগারে ১৬ বৎসর বিভিন্ন দেশে রাষ্ট্রদূতের দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন। তিনি ১৯৭৬-এ মালয়শিয়া ও ১৯৮১-তে কানাডায় হাইকমিশনার, ১৯৮৬-তে সুইডেনে এ্যাম্বাসেডর এবং ১৯৮৭ থেকে ১৯৯১ পর্যন্ত যুক্তরাজ্যে হাইকমিশনার হিসেবে কর্তব্য পালন করেছেন। তিনি ১৯৯২ সনে সরকারি চাকুরি থেকে অবসর গ্রহণ করে রাজনীতিতে সম্পৃক্ত হন। জেনারেল সফিউল্লাহ এক ছেলে এবং তিন মেয়ের পিতা। তিনি সৌখিন ফটোগ্রাফার এবং নিজ হাতে বাগান করতে পছন্দ করেন। খেলাধুলার মধ্যে বর্তমানে তিনি গলফ খেলেন এবং অবসর সময়ে লিখেন।
