The letters, clippings, scribbles, and documents that have been included in this collection date back to the period from 11 March 1971 to 21 July 1972 encompassing the entire period of 1971 liberation war and some months after the liberation of Bangladesh. Most of the materials especially the letters though are very personal and private, but these belong to a period that is important in the context of free and independent Bangladesh. Making these public today after more than fifty years in our judgement is a moral obligation to appraise our new generation that the birth of Bangladesh was not a sunny-sided poached egg on a breakfast plate.
